The designs in the book reflect Judy's introductory statement, state-ment, "I feel blessed to be able to live as I choose; to encourage tenderness, simple ways, appreciation apprecia-tion for God given abilities, and to" share love with those around me. I am delighted to see my family enjoying en-joying these things with me." Each design in Judy's books is prefaced by an explanation of the ' homey, personal reason she created the art piece. They tell of family, natural beauty and love and of deep roots in Bountiful and her husband's Irish ancestry and her Dutch ancestry. Judy's art is styled after traditional tradi-tional patterns. She draws heavily from the Dutch designs and from German art that she learned to appreciate ap-preciate when she lived in Germany. Ger-many. It is a companion piece to a sugar and spice shelf that , also appears in Judy's "Quail Cottage" Cot-tage" book.
