Show Fruit Heights plans 50th anniversary activities FRUIT HEIGHTS -- The first FnrirHeights City Fun Run, parade, arts and crafts exhibit and lots of food and games will highlight the city's 50th golden anniversary on Aug. 12. The fun run begins at 7 a.m. at the Rock Loft, according to Grant Anderson, fun run chairman. "We're looking for everyone who wants to run or walk in this golden anniversary 5-K3 mile run. "The run will begin at the Rock Loft and proceed north on Mountain Moun-tain Road to the Fruit Heights Stake Center, around the back of the building and return to Mountain Road heading south. Runners will then turn down Nicholls Road to Glen Drive, wind around to Stirling Drive,. Nicholls Road, 1400 E. Golden Circle, east on Nicholls to Mountain Road, and finishing up at the South Mountain Road Chapel." For fun run information call Grant Anderson at 544-5444. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. "All area residents are invited to participate with floats, decorated bikes, horses, wagons, walking, or whatever," says Jana Pulsipher, Parade chairman. "The parade starts at the Fruit Heights Stake Center on Mountain Road and concludes con-cludes at the South Mountain Road Chapel." For more information on parade entries call Jana Pulsipher at 544-5477. There will be an arts and crafts exhibit in the afternoon at the South Mountain Road Chapel. Raelene Brian, chairman of the event says, "All items are welcome, including rock collections, art, needlework, and woodworking." To reserve your space, contact Raelene Brian at 544-1025. Games and food will be available in the afternoon on the ballfield of the South Mountain Road Chapel. In the evening, local talent will present a play about Fruit Heights. "A Peach of a Town," is the name of the play, says director Joe Hill.' It's a musical history of Fruit Heights written by Beverly Olson and is co-directed by Brianna Lin-dhal." Lin-dhal."
