Show 'Winners' at recital Sunday evening several first place winners of the Music Teachers' National Association, Southwest Division, will present a recital to help finance a trip to the national finals to be held in Chicago on March 20 and 21. Performing will be Lenora Ford Neal, a piano student of Gladys Cladstone; Laura Garff, soprano, student of Betty Jean Chipman; and Dana Maiben, violinist, a student stu-dent of Norma Lee Madsen. Miss Neal and Miss Garff are competing in the collegiate division, while Miss Maiben is competing in the high school division. Miss Neal will perform the Beethoven Sonata, Opus 57. Laura Garff will present two numbers: num-bers: Mahler's "Song of the Wayfarer" and Rossini's Aria, "Ah, Quel Giornd" from "Semira-mide." "Semira-mide." Dana Maiben will conclude the program with Cesar Franck's "Sonata in A Major." The recital will be given at 8 p.m. at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets, available avail-able from the Music Department or at the door, will be $1. |
