I ' x 1 4 i i' A happening out on the West Union Lawn occurred when a rock band drew some two or three thousand thou-sand students between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Participating were the Ute Charity Char-ity Drive and Associated Women Students (AWS). In order to raise funds, the Ute Charity Drive sponsored spon-sored the Head Band who played two and half hours of loud blaring rock music. A lemonade stand manned by less hippish volunteers was set up next to the happening. I A fee of 10 cents was charged for j a glass of lemonade. According to 1 Greg Karch, Ute Charity Drive Chairman, there are gallon bottles located throughout the campus for the University students to donate to. j AWS sponsored a volleyball game ! out on the lawn. Approximately 50 j students played during the after-l after-l noon. Spring Weather Drawn out by the crowds and spring weather, the Course Evaluation Evalu-ation committee also decided to set up sales outside. During this week, groups who have helped sponsor the drive have been going to rooms collecting money from the students. The Daily Utah Chronicle staff has been the only campus organization organiz-ation to contribute $1 a member to the charity, reported Karch. The Ute Charity Drive will help to support underprivileged students of minority groups. Among the sponsors are SEEK (Student Educational Edu-cational Endowment for King), the Young Republicans, Young Democrats Demo-crats and the Executive council. Also planned for this week is a stomp Friday evening. No Go-Go's It was reported that there would be go-go girls at the happening. None materialized. Karch apologized apolo-gized that the dancers had not appeared ap-peared as was promised.
