Library Christmas Shedule Student who anticipate using the University Library during the Christmas holidays to work on term papers, dissertations or other work, should borrow the material they will need Dec. 11-14. Ralph Thomson, director of libraries, lib-raries, said the old library will close its doors at 5 p.m. on Dec. 14. The new library will open Jan. 2 at 7:30 a.m. No use of the collections of the new or old buildings will be possible poss-ible during the ten working days required to move the one million volumes. Thomson also said materials borrowed during the Dec. 11-14 period will be on extended loan and will not be due until Jan. 9. A new addition to the University Univer-sity library system starting winter quarter will be the acceptance of the University as a corporate member of the Center for Research Re-search Libraries. Membership in the organization will allow University Uni-versity scholars access to a two and a half million volume collection collec-tion by telephone request. |
