Show Sailor Given Top'' Ranking Charles Cooper Peterson was selected by the Mechanical Engineering En-gineering Department as the top sophomore student at the University. Uni-versity. Peterson's grade point average aver-age at the end of his summer quarter was a perfect 4.0. All 15 hours of study were in the physical sciences. Peterson arrived ar-rived here in September, 1965, and has consistently earned high grades. Peterson was selected last summer sum-mer for the Navy Enlisted Scientific Sci-entific Education Program (NE-SEP). (NE-SEP). Students in this program are required to major in engineering, engi-neering, physical sciences or mathematics. Upon graduation, they are eligible for commissioning. commis-sioning. There are over 2,000 enlisted en-listed personnel of the Navy and Marine Corps in this program; over 700 have been graduated and are serving in the commissioned commis-sioned ranks. |
