Show 'Moon' Tryout Sheduled for Student Actors Tryouts for "Ring Round the Moon", the third University of Utah Pioneer Memorial Theatre main stage production of the current season, have been scheduled sched-uled for Monday and Tuesday, September 26 and 27. Dr. David E. Jones, director, will conduct the tryouts both days from 4 to 6 p.m. on the theater's main stage. Musical Charade Characterizing "Ring Round the Moon" as a charade with music," mu-sic," Dr. Jones said "This enchanting en-chanting concoction by two masters mas-ters of modern theatre was first presented in London in 1950 in a production which established Peter Brook as the most brilliant of England's younger directors and made stars out of Paul Sco-field Sco-field and Claire Bloom." The comedy is based on "L-Invitation "L-Invitation au Chateau" by contemporary con-temporary French playwright Jean Anouilh and has been adapted adap-ted for English production by Christopher Fry. Twelve Roles Dr. Jones says there are roles for seven men and five women, of which half are for mature actors and actresses and half for actors and actresses of student stu-dent age. He urged University-wide stu dent participation in the tryouts, noting that students need not be enrolled in theater classes in order to participate. "Ring Round the Moon" will be staged November 10 through 19. |
