Show ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY In as much as the state in support sup-port of education are apportioned appor-tioned to the various School Districts according to the number num-ber of students reported in average daily attendance, we are under the neccesity of keeping complete and accurate reports of attendance of all students. Last year the enrollment from the seventh to the twelfth grade in Milford High School was 252 students, yet the average daily attendance was computed to be only 237 students; therefore the fininces which we receive from the state were based on calculations calcu-lations to cover cost of only 237 students. The educational costs and other costs for additional students had to be born by funds raised locally. Even with an increased in-creased tax levy the amount raised locally was not sufficient and the Student Body operated under a deficit as reported in the local newspaper during August. The anticipated costs are in excess of the previous year and thins will necessitate an increase tax levy of local property for schools in this district. It is timely right now, when taxes are soon to be paid, to call this to the attention of the parents of students who in the main are also tax payers in Beaver County.. If we can increase our average daily attendance this will enable us to receive a larger per cent of the total operating funds from the state, and our local levy will not have to be so great. There is only one way to increase in-crease attendance, and. that is by having all students attend all classes througout the day every day except when there is a real reason for absence. At Milford Mil-ford High School, we find a number num-ber of students who deliberately sluff and do not hesitate to state that they have cut classes in order to be elsewhere. This is a iproblem for friends and tax payers as well as students and teachers of Milford High School. Also many students have developed de-veloped undesirable habits of tardiness and seem to be indifferent in-different to the importance of punctuality in their development develop-ment of individual character MR.
