Show Loans available for veterans Elmer J. Smith, Manager Veterans Administration Regional Re-gional Office, Salt Lake City, today reminds veterans that - guaranteed and direct loans are available to qualified World War II veterans of 90 days' service or more, Korean Conflict Con-flict veterans of 90 days' service ser-vice or more, and Post Korean veterans with more than six months' active duty. Reserve training does not count. If you are a veteran and planning to seek a GI loan from a private lender, you should present to him your plan and original discharge or separation papers. This will enable en-able the lender to help you obtain ob-tain your Eligibility Certificate from the Veterans Administration. Administra-tion. Most lending institutions have loan applications and related re-lated papers, and will assist you in applying for a GI loan. There is no limitation on the amount of loan elegible for guarantee. Under certain conditions and limitations, the Veterans Administration Ad-ministration makes direct loans in designated areas. Mr. Smith pointed out that recently-enacted legislation provides that the maximum direct loan be increased in-creased from $17,500 to $21,000 with terms up to 30 years.
