Show 1 Men may enlist for two years The United States Army has announced that two-year enlistments enlist-ments are now available and is encourging young men facing their military obligation to look into the possibilities offered of-fered by this program. Sgt. Russell Jahn, the local Army recruiter, explained that those eligible for two-year enlistments en-listments are men without prior I service who are registered with Selective Service, who are between be-tween the ages of eighteen and one-half and twenty-six years, and who have not received orders or-ders to report for induction. Men who enlist under this program will be assigned at the option of the U.S. Army, following fol-lowing their normal eight weeks of basic training. Following release from active duty in two years, these men will be assigned to the U.S. Army Reserve in which they will serve the remaining four years of the total six-year military mil-itary obligation of all service-eligible service-eligible American men.
