Show Funds available after July 1 Preliminary apportionment of $394,604 in Federal Aid funds for Fish and Wildlife Restoration Restora-tion projects in Utah will become be-come available to the Fish and Game Department July 1, 1967. I The preliminary allotment ! calls for the Department to re-I re-I ceive $328,426 for wildlife un-der un-der the Pittman-Robertson Act ; and $66,178 for fisheries pro-I pro-I jects under the Dingell-Johnson ! Act. Under the Federal Aid program, pro-gram, the states spend their own money on approved projects pro-jects and are then reimbursed up to 75 of the total cost. Funds for this program come from federal excise taxes on sporting arms and ammunition and sport fishing gear. The formula for-mula under which funds are allocated to the states is based on the number of paid license holders and the total land area of each state. |
