Springville Jaycees Wives, install officers at annual dinner-dance new officers will take over the responsibilities of their new positions immediately following follow-ing installation. After dinner, dancing and conversation were enjoyed by the group. Members of the Springville Jaycees met Saturday, April 30, at the Melody Inn Cafe for their annual joint installation banquet. Outgoing President Robert Jensen gave his presidents report re-port and introduced his outgoing outgo-ing board after which incoming president Bob Snow was sworn in and members of his board were introduced. They are: Taylor Thorpe, vice president in charge of internal affairs; Jim Jeffers, vice president in charge of external affairs; secretary, sec-retary, Melvyn Weight; treasurer, treas-urer, Jim Wiley; director, Jack Howell; director, Jim Peay; state advisor, Robert Jensen. The 21st Grant Thorn Award for outstanding service to the club was presented to Jim Peay by Clyde Pearce, a son-in-law of Mr. Thorn, who was attending and speaking at an ehausted rooster Jaycee convention con-vention in Washington D. C. The 11th Bud Schardine Award for outstanding non-board non-board member or an appointed board ' member, was presented to Jim Jeffers by Bud Schardine. Schar-dine. Bob Snow and Taylor Thorpe were presented with Key Man Awards by president Robert Jensen. The Jaycee Wives presidents report was given by outgoing President Geraldine Cook. The Toni Smith Award for outstanding out-standing board member was presented to Barbara Thorpe, and the Key Girl Award for outsanding non board member or an appointee to the board was presented to Karen Holley. The incoming board was then installed, they are Barbara Thorpe, president; vice president, presi-dent, Karen Holley; secretary, Carol Huff; treasurer, Lynda Weight; two-y ear director, Myrna Jeffers; hold-over director, di-rector, Linda Hatfield; state advisor, Geraldine Cook. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pearce of Salt Lake City; and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Schardine of Springville. All |
