Show I Payson woman seeks to be re-elected Thelm a Vest Smurthwaite, incumbent county recorder announces an-nounces her candidacy for reelection re-election to the office on the Democratic ticket. She has been a life-long resident of Utah County. Bom and reared in Payson, where she resides. She received her education in Payson and at the Brigham Young University, and taught school six years. She has served as president of the National Association of County Recorders and County Clerks , and was awarded a beautifully engraved bronze plaque as "the outstanding county recorder-clerk" across the nation, representing some 3300 counties. She also holds a certificate of merit for outstanding out-standing service in advancing the goal of the National Association Asso-ciation of county recorders and county clerks, by increased efficiency ef-ficiency and devotion to public pub-lic service." She has held many positions of honor and trust in church, community, county, state and nation.
