Show f f S Clyde A. Johnson, wins promotion pro-motion two months early for outstanding efficiency. Son of former residents wins E-2 promotion Clyde A. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Johnson, 5892 Ohio St., Yorba Linda, Calif., formerly of Springville, received an early promotion to Army pay grade private E-2 following successful completion of basic combat training at Fort Polk, La., June 5 according accord-ing to word received from his commanding officer at Fort Eustis, Va., where he is presently pres-ently stationed. Johnson was awarded the promotion two months earlier tlmn is customary because of his proficiency in firing the M-14 rifle; his high score on the physical combat proficiency test and his military bearing and leadership capablities. The early promotion program is the result of a new Department Depart-ment of the Army policy to recognize and provide incentive incen-tive to outstanding trainees. Johnson was graduated from Fontana High School, Calif., in 1959 and from Chaffey College, Col-lege, Alta Loma, Calif., in 1964. |
