Show Area Pony tourney, playoff game set ed team in the meet regardless of this week's outcome. Should Springville win the meet now being played here, the second place team would qualify to go to Price. Results of last week's play in the Pony League here showed Brookside Market defeated de-feated the Sport iShop 3-1, and Center Service downed Snow Dairy 11-6. Friday the Sport Shop beat Center Service 6-1, Springville Bank, 9; Miners, 2; Snow Dairy, 5; Superior Asphalt, As-phalt, 4. The game will qualify the winner to meet the winner of the first half for the Pony city title. One problem yet remains in regard to working out the playoff game and that is to determine a first half winner. Five teams ended in a tie for the first half honors. Playing these games off ' is giving the league officers somewhat of a problem. Details have yet to be worked out. They will be played next week however. Area tourney Meantime, the area tournament tourna-ment games began here Tuesday Tues-day evening and will continue through tonight. The winner of this tournament will play at Price, providing it is not the Springville team. Heber, Spanish Span-ish Fork and Provo will be competing here with the local team to earn the right to play in the Price meet. That winner win-ner will then be entered in the Pony tournament in Springville which begins Aug. 1 10 to 14. Springville is a seed- |
