Show Tests set for Peace Corps August 14f Provo An opportunity for residents to offer their abilities to the Peace Corps will come at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 14, at the Post Office Building, Room 1, Provo. The opportunity is the Peace Corps Placement Test, which is not passed or failed and you can't study for it. It measures general aptitude and the ability abil-ity to learn a language. If, for example, test scores indicate limited language acquiring ability, abil-ity, the Peace Corps tries to place the applicant in an English-speaking area. The test is used by the Peace Corps only on-ly as a tool in the matching of Volunteers and jobs. The Peace Corps application is the most important indicator of suitability suitabil-ity for Peace Corps service. It must be filled out and brought to the exam unless previously submitted. Applicants should plan on about one and a half hours at the testing centers, unless they wish to take the Spanish or French language achievement test, wheih requires an additional addi-tional hour. |
