Show Mapleton News Mrs. Blake Everett The Mapleton Second Ward Scouts left Tuesday morning for a few days camping in the Uintas. Parry Harrison Scoutmaster Scout-master and junior assistant, Wayne Hall were in charge of the boys. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Bills and a nephew, Robert Tuttle, spent two weeks in Philipsburg, Montana Mon-tana this month. They visited with Mrs. Bills' brother and his family, Mr .and Mrs. Donald Johnson. While there they spent some time at the Johnson's John-son's cabin, which is located at the edge of a lake in the mountains near Philipsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Paul McHargue and three children of Colombus, Georgia, are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bennett. They plan to be here another week. , The Laurels class of the Mapleton Ma-pleton Second Ward MIA had graduation ceremonies Monday evening at mutual. The girls mothers were invited and a nice program was presented by the girls. They had the room decorated beautifully for the I occasion and served refresh-I refresh-I ments at the conclusion of the I party. Three of the girls were presented Laurel pins for successfully suc-cessfully completing the requirements re-quirements of the two-year course, they were Marsha Hall, Sharon Wiscombe and Ellen Hjorth. Mrs. Harrison is teacher tea-cher of the group. Mrs. Virginia Hall spent a few days in the Utah Valley Hospital last week. She was there for tests and Xrays. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shepherd Shep-herd and children are in Nebraska, Ne-braska, where they attended the wedding reception of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Shephred. The young couple was married in Nebraska and came to Utah on their honeymoon trip to visit vis-it his folks and to be married in the Manti Temple. The brides' parents were giving a wedding recepton on Tuesday of this week. Mrs. Nellie Wiscombe spent the weekend at her home with a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thales Brown of Parawan. Mrs. Wiscombe has been at a rest home in Provo for the past two or three months. Raymond Hales is home for the winter. He is planning to attend the BYU this year. He has been living in southern California, with his brother, Blaine and family, while attending at-tending a university in their city. |
