Show Prizes awarded junior high art students A total of $25 in prizes was given art students of the junior high school by the Cultural Arts Federated Women's Club, Wednesday evening, at the Art Gallery. The prizes were for first place winners in the exhibit now at the Art Gallery, which includes chalk work, water colors, photographs, glass mosaics, mo-saics, drawings, toothpick and soap sculpture work. Rodney Whit i n g, seventh grade, received first in chalk pastel; Jill Tuttle, seventh, wa-tercolor; wa-tercolor; Art Averett, ninth, clay sculpture, drawing and print; Don Cornelius, ninth, mosaic, wax sculpture, pinhole camera photo; Ruth Roundy, seventh, carving; Vonda Bird, seventh, toothpick sculpture; Bruce Fox, ninth, photogram; Norman Alleman, seventh, mosaic. mo-saic. A $1 prize was given each first place student and the remainder re-mainder will go for equipment for the art department at the school. Mrs. Grant Nielson, president of the club, made the presentations. The art exhibit will continue to be open during school hours the remainder of the month and from 2 to 9 p.m., on Sun- |
