The apparent low bidder for the Interstate project pro-ject which extends for 7.8 miles from Santaquin to Payson was the LeGrande Johnson Construction Con-struction Company of Logan, Utah. The LeGrande Johnson Construction Company submitted submit-ted the apparent low bid of $1, 581,029.47. The engineers estimate esti-mate was $1,892,965.42. There were seven bidders for the Interstate In-terstate project. With the opening of the bid for the project on Interstate 15 from Payson to Santaquin the Department of Highways now will have 23 miles of Interstate In-terstate Highway construction underway on 1-15 in Utah County amounting to over $6 million. In addition, a connecting connect-ing road from Center Street to 1-15 in Provo for 1.3 miles is currently underway. This project has an authorized, author-ized, amount of $838,328 and is being constructed by the W. W. Clyde Company, Springville.
