Show MapSeton News Mrs. Blake Everett Camp Union DUP was held at the home of Rowena Palmer Thursday evening. The meeting was conducted by captain Vivian Viv-ian Everett and minutes of previous meeting were read by secretary Irene Freeman. Merle Best gave a history of her great great grandfather and two of her great grandmothers. The lesson for the evening was given giv-en by Afton Barker. Election of officers for next year was held with the following follow-ing being elected: captain, Afton Af-ton Barker; first vice captain, Gladys Johnson; 2nd hold-over vice captain, Velma Williams; secretary and treasurer, Ber-niece Ber-niece Everett; registrar, Vivian Everett; historian, Rowena Palmer; custodian of relics, Grace Norwood and LaRee Warren, chaplain. Lenore Bills and Doris Ann Rowberry will continue as .cheer leader. Refreshments were served by hostesses Opal Spencer, LaRee Warren and Mrs. Palmer. A special guest was Glenna Burt. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Bushman Bush-man are grandparents of a baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cahoon (Susan) of Salt Lake City. The baby weighed eight pounds and will be named Michelle. The Ca-hoons Ca-hoons also have a boy named Lynn. Mrs. Laura Bennett and her mother, Mrs. Hollis Williams of Springville are in Columbus, Georgia, where they are visiting visit-ing Mrs. Bennett's daughter, Gay McHargue and her family. A baby girl was born to the McHargues on May 15. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Bennett went to Georgia by plane and are planning to come home on the train, after a few week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Jensen had a family party Saturday evening in honor of their anniversary. an-niversary. Dinner was served to the following family members: mem-bers: Mr .and Mrs. Ruel Jen- sen, Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Jensen, Jen-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman, Free-man, Mrs. Gladys Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Jensen. Mrs. Trudy Harrison is in the Payson Hospital where she underwent surgery last week. Mrs. Louise Hjorth is in the Utah Valley Hospital for treatment and observation. Mapleton DUP was held Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Eva Bird. The lesson on negro pioneers was given by Arlina Holley and a history was given by Vanda Jensen. Poems were read by Marie Morgan and Alice Johnson John-son and two vocal sols were given by Beverly Walker. Election of officers was held with the following being elected elec-ted to serve for the next two years: Belva Wentz, captain; Marva Whiting, 1st vice cap tain; Arlina Holley, 2nd vice captain; and Vanda Jensen, secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Will Whiting were hosts to the Birthday Club Saturday evening. Eighteen Eigh-teen members were present with Mr .and Mrs. Chris Sor-ensen Sor-ensen coming from Manti for the affair.
