Show Legion Auxiliary entertains guests American Legion Auxiliary members entertained their guests including Gold Star mothers, at a program Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, at Memorial Hall. President Manila Brown welcomed wel-comed those present, following preliminary exercises which included in-cluded prayer by Minnie Groes-beck Groes-beck and a pledge to the flag. Cleo Bishop, poppy poster chairman, presented checks to the poppy poster winners, Kathy Johnson, Vonda Bird and Diane Taylor. Their parents par-ents attended as guests. Helen Crandall, prog ram chairman, introduced John and Sherry Miller, who entertained entertain-ed with folk songs with guitar accompaniment. Later Peggy C. Childress of Orem, reviewed Ernie Ford's book, "This is My Story, This is My Song." In short business following the program, the president announced an-nounced Poppy Day, Saturday May 22, inviting all members to assist in the sales. Nominations for officers of the unit for next year, compiled com-piled by Chairman Cleonda Miner, were announced and later la-ter elected by acclamation. They are: Gladys Pennington, president; Delia Hutton and Marjorie Frandsen, vice presidents: presi-dents: Florence Bover. re-elec- ted treasurer; Etta Jones, chaplain; Clara Sumsion, reelected re-elected historian; Hazel Hafen and Beth Coffman, sargeant-at-arms. The new officers will be installed in June. A secretary secre-tary is to be appointed. Gold Star mothers in attendance atten-dance were Vilate Reynolds and Emma Alleman. Tressa Johnson of Spanish Fork, district dis-trict president, was a special guest. Lunch was served at the close of the meeting to approximately approx-imately 60 members and guests. Lela Nelson, Katherine Robertson, Cleo Bishop, Leah Jones, Cleonda Miner, Norma Jenkins, Beth Berrett, Floss Phillips and Fern Lee were hostesses. Favors were presented present-ed each member and guest. "Industry is fortune's right hand, and frugality her left."
