Show Pioneer history features DUP meet Camp Kolob, DUP, held their January meeting at Ade- , le Nielson's home. Captain 1 Mable Brown presided. Flossie Sanford read the his- : tory of Isaac' Sowerby, born November 27, 1830, at Eller-ton, Eller-ton, Yorkshire, England. He married Elizabeth Morrod, Ap- . ril 8, 1852. As a young boy he was apprenticed as a joiner, doing carpentry work. He was baptized into the Mormon Church in January 1851 and came to America or the ship Synosure, leaving England in 1863. He had yellow yel-low fever on the way across the plains, but his wife was strong and walked most of the 1 way to make more room for the ones who could not walk. Eight children were born tc them. In 1864, the family moved to Nephi, where their first home was a dugout. Isaac Sowerby built many hnmes ir Nephi, and also worked on the tabernacle and the D&RG De- 1 pot. They also visited Mrs. M. O. Packard, Jr., at LaJolla and with Mr. Packard's sister and husband, Mr. and . Mrs. Rodney Rod-ney Taylor (Eliza) at Encin-itas. Encin-itas. They made the trip by plane.
