Show Public urged to reserve recreation area Reservations are now being taken for use of the fireplace recreation areas at Kelly's Grove, it was announced this week. Many o u t-of-t own groups, who took advantage of the areas last summer, have already spoken for return dates. There are now three fireplaces fire-places available, the Kiwanis fireplace, the Lions and that constructed by the Veterans. These areas are in use almost every afternoon and evening throughout the summer, it is pointed out by Reed Clements, supervisor of the area, with whom reservations should be made. There is a minimum charge to out-of-town people who use the fireplaces or to those who camp at the grove. Spriingville people may use the picnic areas ar-eas throughout the grove as well as the fireplaces when they are not in use, without charge. There is a new picnic area on top of the hill near the Grove, where new lights and other facilities are installed for use of the public this summer. sum-mer. From out-of-town During the past season, numerous nu-merous BYU wards, stakes and private groups used the Grove for programs and picnics. pic-nics. Also practically every state as well as foreign countries, coun-tries, Okinawa, Germany and Canada were represented among the total of over 30, 000 people who visited the area. Many of the visitors asked why the Grove was not on the road map or listed as a recreational recre-ational picnic area on state publicity folders. Mr. and Mrs. Clements, who made personal contact with most of the campers and visitors, visit-ors, said that it was interesting interest-ing to estimate how much money these people spent at local business houses for groceries, gro-ceries, gas and other items, during their stay here, which was generally longer than I had planned. |
