Show Mapleton News ! Mrs. Blake Everett Phone 489-4837 Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hatfield and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bona returned recently from a ten-day ten-day trip to California. They traveled in the Hatfield's camper, cam-per, stopping along the way whereever there was something some-thing of interest to see. Going by way of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, they went down the coast to Tijuana and back to San Diego, where they visited with several different friends in that area. They then proceeded up the coast to San Francisco and came back to Utah through Sacramento and Donner's Pass. Despite the fact that it was rainy and chilly most of the time, they report that it was a most enjoyable trip. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Chris-tensen Chris-tensen are expected to return to their home this week. They have been in California for the past several weeks. Mr. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen spent part of the time in a hospital where he underwent under-went major surgery. Mrs. Christensen stayed with a son and his family at Upland, California. Cal-ifornia. Mrs. Dorothy Wiscombe was pleasantly surprised with a visit from one of her son's missionary companions Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Dale Marquis of Glendale, California, and a friend of his came over from the BYU, where he is now enrolled en-rolled in school. He was Edward Ed-ward Wiscombe's first companion com-panion when he went into the mission field. They worked out of Rochester, New York. The rest of the Wiscombe family happened to be gone at the time but Mr. Marquis said he would come and see them again. Merl Best is back home after af-ter spending about two weeks iin the Utah Valley Hosptal. She had complications from an earlier operation. Edna Lindsay had a quilting quilt-ing Monday, and a number of friends dropped in to assist her. The quilt is for a granddaughter, grand-daughter, Patricia Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lindsay who is geeeting married mar-ried this week. Some of those who came to quilt were: Mel-vinia Mel-vinia Johnson, Belva Wentz, Vera Singleton, Alberta Banks, Nida Leavitt and Dorotha Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph V. Dunn of Meeker, Colorado, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Christensen. Mrs. Dunn is a sister to Mr. Christensen. |
