Show Local man heads contractors wide organization is engaged in highway, heavy and building construction. The Utah group also comprises of subcontractors subcontract-ors and suppliers of materials and services to the construction construc-tion industry. Two Springville contractors, Saturday, were installed officers offi-cers of the Utah Chapter of the Associated General Contractors, Con-tractors, AGC, at the annual meeting in Salt Lake. They are John Strong and Ha Clyde. Mr. Strong was installed president of the Chapter at the ' banquet which was part of the association's annual conven- . tion, at Hotel Utah. He became be-came the organization's 44th 1 president. His father, Ernest A. Strong, was president of the AGC iin 1937. John Strong has been the vice president of the chapter as well as serving on the Board of Directors. During the past year he has been chairman chair-man of the Plan Bulldozer committee. This plan was recently re-cently presented to Utah County Coun-ty and Provo City by the AGC It calls for general contractors contract-ors to make their equipment and manpower available to governmental agencies in case of emergency. ' Hal Clyde from the W. W Clyde & Company, firm of this city, was installed a member of the Board of Directors. The AGC is recognized as the spokesman for the . construction con-struction industry.
