Show School praised for special safety record Westside School has received a Certificate of Exceptional Merit and has been placed on the National School Safety Honor Roll of the National Safety Council for the 5th consecutive year, Principal Frank Patten announced today. to-day. "We are pround to win this recognition of our efforts to build a fine safety education program," Mr. Patten said. "Accidents remain the chief cause of death among school-age school-age children, and we will continue con-tinue to improve our program to teach our young people to protect themselves and their fellow students." The Honor Roll was initiated in 1944. To gain a place on it. a school must present a detailed detail-ed report of its safety program pro-gram to a committee composed of the school principal, the president of the local parent-teacher parent-teacher association or similar group, a student, a local civic leader, and the president of the local Safety Council. Upon Up-on the recommendation of this committee, the reports may be forwarded to the National Na-tional Safety Council for listing list-ing on the Honor Roll.
