Show Three-county job survey project being planned LeRue E. Thurston, Manager Mana-ger of the Provo Employment Security Office, announced today to-day that his office is about to launch a job opening survey in Utah, Juab, and Millard Coun-ies. Coun-ies. Mr. Thurston stated, "one of the disturbing aspects of our current labor market is the large number of persons without work while at the same time there are a number num-ber of jobs without workers. With the cooperation of employers em-ployers in our area this survey sur-vey will give us a much better bet-ter picture of where the workers work-ers are and where the jobs are." Within the next few days the Employment Office will mail out questionaires to all employers in the tri-country Central Utah district, asking them to list their job vacancies vacan-cies and a little information about future trends. "With this information, we hope to assist employers in solving this problem of manpower imbalance, im-balance, which in turn, will provide a better standard of living for all," Mr. Thurston said. Shielding would cut the danger dan-ger from fallout radiation as goggles cut the dangerous glare from welding, the thicker thick-er and heavier the better. Equal protection could be obtained ob-tained from 2 inches of lead, 4 inches of steel, 15 inches of concrete, 24 inches of earth. 96 inches of water, or 60 inches inch-es of wood. |
