Show New bag Us set for doves The healthy status of the mourning doves in Utah and other western states is reflected reflect-ed this year in a more liberal framework under which the season may be set, accordiing to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Utah's department of fish and game had recommended to the service an increase in the bag and possession limit of doves from the 10 and 20 of recent years to 12 bag and 24 possession. The federal service, which sets the maximum allowable al-lowable regulations for taking all migratory game birds, approved ap-proved this recommendation. The mourning dove season in Utah normally starts September Sep-tember 1, first allowable day for this hunt under the federal framework. Records show an increasing interest each year in this earliest ear-liest of the upland game bird hunts. Last year, 18,258 Utah dove hunters harvested 162,769 birds for an average bag of nearly nine birds each. |
