Show kmmm id. m .. mmMusm Terry Blodgett to speak LDS forum speaker set CEDAR CITY -"Linguistics: A Key to Recognizing Ancient Israel in Dispersion" will be the subject of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Institute In-stitute of Religion Forum speaker Terry Blodgett Tuesday at 650 W. Center at 12 noon. Blodgett is currently the chairman, of the Language Department at Southern Utah State College where he has been employed as a professor for nine years. He has also been a teaching assistant as a German instructor for six years. He will be speaking on the subject of his dissertation, which points out linguistic evidence of Hebrew influence on the European languages after the priod of the Assyrian capativity of ancient Israel. He was born in Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School. He received a B.A. degree from Utah State University, a Master's degree from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. He also served an LDS mission in the Central German Mission from 1963 to 1965. Blodgett is married to the former Cheryl Ann Cordon, they are the parents of five children. He is currently serving as a counselor to the elders quorum president in his ward. |
