The teams are highly competitive and play games weekly. Little League action will continue this week with several big games slated. Cowboys, Trojans, Spirits win in Little League action third quarter Randy House scored a seven yard quarterback keeper, and Michael Weaver ran in the extra point. In the fourth quarter the Trojans cinched the game when Weaver pushed over three yards for another touchdown. The Chiefs then got their score on a 60-yard kickoff return by Cody Bulloch. The Trojans came back with a 27-yard touchdown run by Wes Heap, and Weaver went over for the extra point. The varsity games were played Sept. 23, with the Chiefs overcoming the Spirits 21-6 and the Trojans holding the Cowboys to 0 while they scored 19. The Chiefs jumped off to a fast start when Eddie Dalton got the ball on the opening kickoff and ran 40 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was good. In the third quarter Clay Tom ran 34 yards for the Chief's second touchdown, touch-down, and again the extra point was good. In the fourth quarter it was Brett Irons with an 11-yard 11-yard touchdown run, and againt the extra point was good. The Spirits scored near the end of the game on a 41-yard touchdown touch-down run by Mike Barrick. CEDAR CITY - Little League football action last week included two games for each junior varsity team, with the Cowboys picking up two wins and the Trojans and Spirits getting one each. In the Tuesday games the Spirits defeted the Chiefs 18-6, and the Cowboys squeaked by the Trojans 9-7. The Spirits started their scoring in the first quarter on a 36-yard touchdown pass to Mike Barrick from Shawn Schexnayder, In the second quarter the two did a repeat performance with a 60-yard touchdown pass, and in the fourth quarter Mark Messer ran eight yards for the team's third touchdown. The Chief's only socre came in the third quarter on a 36-yard blocked punt return by Glenn Bauer. The Cowboys won their game when they pinned the Trojans for a safety in the second quarter and then went on to score a touchdown on a 19-yard pass to Shawn Christenson. The Trojans scored in the third quarter as Michael Weaver ran 50 yards for a touchdown, and the team made the extra point. In Saturday's action the Cowboys defeated the Spirits 13-0, and the Trojans walked over the Chiefs 26-6. The Cowboys scored in the second quarter on a 17-yard touchdown ran by Grant Slack and then made the extra point. Kyle Lambert then scored on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter. It was the Trojans all the way as they took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter as Randy House threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Rand Bettridge. In the |
