Show Cedar recognized for work in growth and development You know that you've chosen a good community to live in when your city brings home the first place award for economic development in the state. A lot of hard work, time and effort went into developing Cedar City, and the Record recognizes and wishes to thank all those who have contributed to Cedar's growth and development. Sometimes residents may think that development in the city goes unnoticed, but winning a Utah Community Progress award definitely shows that not only people in this community have noticed the development but other Utah cities have recognized our growth as well. The purpose of the Utah Community Progess Award is to provide incentive for community-wide efforts to identify needs and resources. Winning the award is not an easy task. Each city is judged carefully and thoroughly by competent judges. Each community presents different programs to the judges, which include the city's progress in the areas of community planning, human relations and cultural enrichment; economic development; physical environment; and community services. City officials rather than sending information just stating the facts, let the facts speak for themselves by submitting newspaper articles to show Cedar's progress. Cedar officials are to be complimented on their hard work and long hours for putting the report together. Cedar has seen much growth, and it will see much more thanks to good city officials and hard working citizens who care about this community and how it runs. Once again, congratulations to all that have contributed to Cedar growth, especially where Cedar's industrial park is concerned. By no means has the work gone unappreciated. |
