Show Country club to fold after 20 long years CEDAR CITY - The final remnants of the Fainted Hills Country Club will be dissolved tomorrow. The Country Club was begun over twenty years ago by a group of local citizens interested in creating a golf course. The group became known as the Painted Hills Country Club and solicited the help of citizens throughout the community to help in the establishment , . of the course. . Contributions of up to $250 were given, and the members of this new club suddenly found themselves them-selves with a golf course. "Everyone was really helpful and pleased with the completion of the course," said Grant Seegmiller, the last president of the country club. The group will now unite in one last meeting to dissolve and also make another very important contribution to Cedar City and the golf course they helped to create. The members of the club are the owners of approximately 10 acres of land located near the second hole of the course and $1,700. The members will decide during this final reunion on whether or not to donate the money and land to the city. "Hopefully this will spur everyone on to the creation on an eighteen hole course," Seegmiller said. The remaining members of the club are invited to attend the meeting to be conducted tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Cedar City Council Chambers. |
