Show He Ipfu I hints for tasty apple pie By JANET H. WEAVER Record Reporter It's time to start using those fresh, tasty apples and what better way to do it than in a pie. For a change of pace, if you are in a real hurry, or if you don't have much faith in your ability to make pie crust, why not try this tasty treat. CRUSTLESS APPLE PIE 8 medium tart apples Juice of half a lemon Vi cup sugar V2 cup water 1 tsp. cinnamon 6 tbsp. margarine V2 cup brown sugar 1 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder Vi tsp. salt Peel apples and cut into eighths. Cook with lemon juice, water, sugar and cinnamon until apples are p partially done (about ten minutes). Line a nine-inch pan with apples. Cream margarine, add brown sugar and cream well. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle over apples on pie pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
