Show Local girl named pageant finalist CEDAR CITY -Kirstin Nelson Burbidge, 18, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Leslie D. Burbidge, Jr., has been selected to a state finalist in the 1982 Miss United Teenager Pageant to be conducted at the University of Utah at 7:30 p.m. July 27. hours to time to some worthwhile charity or civic work of their choice. The winner of the state " finals of the Miss United Teenager Pageant will receive , an all-expense paid trip to compete in the national finals, a three-phase pageant in Hollywood, Calif. Burbidge is sponsored by Max's Portraits, Town . & , Country . Restaurant, Cedar Drug and the Cedar City Rotary Club. She is a former student at Cedar High School and will be attending the University of Utah in the fall on an honors in entrance en-trance scholarship. Her hobbies include jogging, horses, writing, playing the ' recorder and violin, singing, skiing, sewing and cooking. Contestants from all over the State will be competing for the title. All contestants are between the ages of 14 and 18 and must have at least a B average in school. They are requested to participate in the Volunteer Community Com-munity Service Program of the Miss United Teenager Pageant. Through this program many youngsters are becoming involved in community activities by contributing at least 8 |
