Show Institutional Council New appointments approved Utah State University. She has taught at SUSC for one year on a Title III grant and for the past two years on a part-time basis. All of these positions are to begin Sept. 8. W'hitelaw was appointed ap-pointed to his new position to provide effective ef-fective staff support for SUSC computing needs. He will also manage the computer center budget, personnel and facilities and will serve with the computer committee to provide policies on computing. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Utah State University and has a doctor's degree in systems theory from USU. His appointment will be effective Sept. 14. Barton will supervise, coordinate and execute a marketing oriented program for student recruitment; supervise school relations including contact with prospective students, high schools and other institutions; direct and supervise college admissions programs in coordination with the registrar's office and academic standards and admissions committee com-mittee and supervise designing and editing of college publicity materials for recruitment recruit-ment purposes in coordination coor-dination with the information in-formation services office. He holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and has nearly completed coursework for a masters degree in education administration. Since 1976 he has been director and assistant director of school relations office at Brigham Young University. His appointment ap-pointment was effective July 1. CEDAR CITY - Six new appointments were approved last week at the regular meeting of the Southern Utah State I College Institutional - Council. I Douglas H. Baker was named assistant professor of theater arts; June Marie Canty was appointed assistant professor of education; John C. De Bross was appointed instructor of communication and assistant director of forensics; Coralie Rawlinson was appointed instructor in business education; Chandler Pratt W'hitelaw was appointed director of the academic computer center; and Mark Barton was appointed as director of admissions and school services. Baker holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Utah State University and a master's in acting from Ohio University. Canty holds a bachelor of science degree in music education from Oakland University, a master's of education degree in elementary education from Wayne State University and a doctor of education degree from the University of Washington. De Bross holds a bachelor of science degree in speech and English from Southwest Missouri State University and a master's degree in speech-communication from Emporia State University. He has taught and been the director of forensics at both Kansas State Teachers Colelge and the University of Southern California. Rawlinson holds a bachelor of science degree in business education from Southern Utah State College and a master's degree in business education from |
