Show VVMC's Total Fitness Program offered CEDAR CITY - The Total Fitness Program of the Valley View Medical Center is now being offered of-fered to the public. Individuals and businesses may register for the program, which is designed to help participants par-ticipants decrease the risk of heart attack and to deal with stress in their lives, according to Physical Therapist Jim Keate and Respiratory Therapist Bob Weid-mann. Weid-mann. The program, in which VVMC employees are now participating, has two phases evaluational and educational. The evaluational phase of the program consists of a bicycle ergometer test of aerobic fitness, a muscle strength and flexibility test, a skinfold test to determine percent of body fat, blood lipid analysis, a pulmonary function test, a behavior rating test to determine stress and cardiovascular car-diovascular disease risk assessment. The educational phase of the program consists of four seminars in which participants will receive instruction in the pursuit of wellness and behavior modification, nutrition and weight control, fitness fit-ness and exercise and stress management. Test groups will be comprised of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 individuals, Keate stated. However, businesses desiring to have their employees participate in the program may have larger groups provided the testing is done at their own facilities. Cost of the Total Fitness Fit-ness Program is $95 per participant. This cost includes the complete fitness evaluation, the four educational seminars and periodic refresher courses which will be conducted about every six weeks. In addition a Total Fitness Newsletter containing information articles and announqements of upcoming up-coming events will be sent to all participants.
