Show Zions visits decrease were full from Thursday evening through Sunday evening. According to park rangers, the weekend went rather smoothly. Everyone seemed to enjoy the park and the mild weather. Park rangers did respond to five serious injuries and illnesses. These individuals in-dividuals were safety transported to Dixie Medical Center with the assistance of the Hurricane Valley ambulance. ZION NATIONAL PARK Travel here totaled 237,693 visits for the month of June. According to Superintendent Harold L. Grafe, this figure represents a 2 percent decrease compared with June 1981. Travel for the calendar year totals 559,695 visits, an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period in 1981. Campground use at Zion totaled 40,892 campers for the month, a 4.5 percent increase over June of 1981. Camping for the year totaled 82,696 campers, a 4 percent decrease compared to the same period in 1981. Zion hosted an estimated 33,000 visitors and 6,400 campers over the Fourth of July weekend.
