Show Runners have a ball CEDAR CITY -A host of 40 southern Utah runners decided to "do something wild" Saturday as they participated in the Utah State Division of Wildlife Resources ''Do Something Wild" four-mile four-mile run. Runners found conditions ideal for the fun run, with sunny skies and comfortable temperatures prevailing. The run was conducted in conjunction with three other runs at other state Division of Wildlife offices. Participants in the run were awarded T-shirts and the top three finishers in each division received medals. The top male and female finishers in the state were awarded nice trophies. The fastest time turned in at the Cedar run was clocked by Southern Utah State College student Hernando Hernandez, who finished in 20:21.6, just 12.4 seconds behind the fastest time recorded in the state. Gordon Hyde, also an SUSC student, finished 24.8 seconds behind Hernandez and Chad Jones was third in 21:45.1. There were five runners participating from the Division of Wildlife Resources southern regional office. Top division finishers in the run were as follows: women 10 and under, Paige Marchant; men 10-14, Brian Green; men 15-19, Gordon Hyde; men 20-24, Hernando Hernandez; women 20-24, Linda Ekstrom; men 25-29, 25-29, Paul Cahoon; men 30-34, 30-34, John Pragle; women 30-34, Mary Lou Pearson; men 35-39, Steve Marshall; women 35-39, Leslie Wiley ; and men 40-49, 40-49, Dan Dix. f ". if Young Brian Green scoots right along during the "Run Wild" fun run sponsored by the Utah Divisions of Wildlife Resources. There were 40 runners in the event and weather was beautiful for the four-mile event. |
