Show Kids need homes CEDAR CITY - Iron County has recently been authorized to start a Crisis Placement Home. Basically what this program consists of is taking a child into the home for a period of not longer than 14 days. The most likely child to be placed in this type of home is a youth awaiting a more permanent placement, or, in some instances, an ungovernable or runaway youth that is not suitable for placement in detention. The family selected would be paid a retainer or $150 per month regardless of how many children were in their home, plus a daily fee somewhat higher than regular foster care, according to Donald G. Anderson, Family Life Services. There is an intense need for additional foster homes for teenage children. It can be challenging but also very rewarding and Milling, according to Anderson. He also stated that having this type of home in Icou'County will be a'J tremendous asset to the County. Those interested in sponsoring a child through this particular type of program may contact Donald G. Anderson, Iron County Office, Family Life Services, District 5. |
