Show IP A approves bond issue SANDY, UTAH The Intermountain Power Agency approved a $600 million bond issue in the recent regular Board of Directors meeting. It also approved impact alleviation agreements totaling nearly $9 million. The bond issue is the fourth in IPA's scheduled series that will ultimately raise nearly $9 billion to build the coal-fired generating plant near Delta. The issues, begun in February this year, total $900 million to date. This issue of $000 million will bring the total to $1.5 billion. Proceeds from the issue will be deposited to construction and reserve funds. The impact alleviation contracts include $650,000 for improvements to Delta City's culinary water system, nearly $8 million lor capital improvements in the Millard County Schools and $190,000 for assistance in social service programs. Impact alleviation payments are being made in the community to provide services for the population growth resulting from the plant. These current contracts bring the total of payments to over $11 million. In other business, the Board approved contracts for some of the major equipment at the plant. Pollution control equipment contracts, including fabric filter and flue gas scrubber, totaling nearly $256 million were awarded to General Electric Environmental Services. |
