Bob Welti Addresses Chamber f " " Rob Welti TV weatherman Bob Welti amused the audience at the Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet last Thursday night in a speech ranging from his participation in a bullfight in Spain to how to handle stress. Welti assured the audience that in the future there will be "unbelievable things" such as anti gravity paint and that hydrogen powered cars are being developed-' so don't worry about the oil crisis." To help cure worrying Welti advises "a good religious faith" and "to write it down" saying that problems do not appear as difficult when they are on paper. 1979 Chamber President Harold Hiskey reviewed the group's accomplishments ac-complishments for the past year including a a map of the city which was mailed this week to area residents. "While we had been worried over the tourist industry it turned out to not be a bad summer and a lot of that had to do with the Shakespearean Festival," said the outgoing president. Paul Whetman was introduced as the new Chamber president for 1980 and Steve Thomas will serve as vice president. New directors for 1980 are Rod Hammer, John Van Enige, Paul Cahoon and Richard Messer. Directors who will continue for a second year are Brent White, who served as vice president in 1979, Tamara Park, Les Childs and Harold Hiskey. Jim Hoyle will continue as President of the Prospectors Club and Garth Jones as the group's Executive Secretary. |
