Keith Higbee who works at the mobil Gas Station on South Main St. stands next to their latest sign which was put up last week advertising their prices for gas sold by the liter. Higbee explained ex-plained that four liters approximately equals a gallon of gasoline and said that the price advertised works out to actually be $1.03.7 per gallon for regular in more familiar measurements. Higbee said that the change to the metric system has been forced by an equipment shortage of meters which will tabulate to the above a dollar a gallon gasoline figures and is a much cheaper solution to this problem which has been facing gas stations across the country. However, the Mobil station is the first to "Go Metric" in Cedar City and they offer customers a convenient con-venient table to translate the figures into gallon measurements. Mr. Higbee has received a year's free extension ex-tension of his subscription toThe Iron County Record for being featured in our weekly photographic column, "Off the Record." |
