Show MAKING FAMILY LIFE MORE FUN SKI TOGETHER Going downhill together is an experience that a growing grow-ing number of families find uplifting! The Equitable Family Ski Challenge, in its fourth season, has become America's Ameri-ca's fastest-growing amateur competition. U.s! Alpine Ski Team's head men's coach, Harald Schoenhaar, gives advice to a young competitor before the Equitable amateur ski race. Two-person teams comprising com-prising any combination of family members (mother, father, brother, sister) com- pete as teams-against-time on a giant slalom course. A handicapping system compensates com-pensates for age differences and ski course conditions. ! The races are scheduled for 50 ski areas across the U.S., starting in mid-December. mid-December. Scores are tallied in mid-February, and 350 winning teams progress to one of four regional race-offs. Regional winners 32 family teams will get all-expense-paid trips to the National Finals in Snowbird, Utah, March 29 to April 1. Contact your local ski area for further information. |
