Show It's time to plant for fair It's time to get those gardens gar-dens started. Many of the local gardeners have peas, carrots and many other vegetables veg-etables well along. The fair is scheduled for August 11-12 and 13 and that is early for local gardens, but remember, produce is judged for quality and uniformity. uni-formity. A plate of green tomatoes, that were otherwise other-wise excellent took a blue ribbon last year. Senior citizens have been challenged by Beaver as to which community can raise the most and best produce for the fair. Both Miners -ville and Milford have accepted that challenge. So your entry in the senior division di-vision may help to bring laurels to your home town as well as pick you up some blue ribbons and prize money for yourself. There' s a division for young people and 4-H gardens gar-dens also. All entries will receive ribbons and premium pre-mium money. It's not too early to start that prize winning quilt or other fancy work. Let's get together and make this the best county fair ever. |
