Show lipi's snip era IMra; test teisosi atar&3ay J toE3 The game could have been closer had Simpson shared the ball with his teammates, who were left to fight the boards for possession. Milford took an early seven sev-en point lead, but North Sevier Se-vier tied it at 17-17 and the quarter closed with Milford ahead, 19-17. Milford again moved out but the Wolves hung on for a 41-34 halftone spread, as fouls began to tell on both teams. Gary Mayer, who has been leading the Tigers, didn't score the first half, but pumped in six points in the third period before drawing his fifth foul. Kirk, Nelson and Kerr also picked up five personals before the final buzzer. Camp had five personals per-sonals for the Wolves. The Tigers managed only a ten -point spread at the three-quarter mark, but had fifteen a couple of times in the third period. Fouls marred the final period, but even Simpson's foul pitch percentage wasn't enough to hold the Tigers, who put on a flurry, to win going away. Fantastic shooting and help from the Beavers gave the Tigers a share of first place In Division I last week. This Saturday they'll have a chance to hand Gunnison their second defeat in as many weeks, unless the Wolves beat them to it Friday Fri-day and assist the Bulldogs to a quiet spot somewhere out of the limelight. It's a fact that the Bulldogs Bull-dogs got through the first half by the skin of their teeth, and now the rest of the teams are going to be shooting for them. The Beavers Beav-ers gave them their first lumps last week and North Sevier and Milford will be out to do the same this week. The Wolves looked much im proved last week, but not enough to daunt the Tigers, who shot 48 from the field (34-71) and plugged 18 of 2 5 from the foul line (72). The Wolves hit a not too shabby 41 from the field (26-63) and 20 of 35from the free stripe for 57. Mitch Bealer and Mark Nelson led the attack with 21 and 20, respectively, while Travis Simpson, with 25 most from the free stripe, received scoring honors. The Tigers had four in double figures: Bealer, 21-10-4; Nelson, 20-12-6; Jones, 12-2-1; Kerr, 15-10-8; Kirk, 7-0-0; and Mayer, 6-4-6. Milford had 39 rebounds and the Wolves, 38.
