Show NEWS OF YOUll NEIGHBORS IN Bv MRS. CLAIR GILLTNS SOUTH MILFORD .. Community Club was held Saturday with special guests from Milford, Mr. and Mrs Steve Williams and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Ruth. Mr. Williams and Mr. Ruth gave interesting talks on Civil Defense as it affects rural areas, and Mr Ruth conducted a question and answer session on how we should be concerned and how we could start to prepare for our welfare. A delicious hot beef dinner was enjoyed by those present. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Stoker and children of Cedar City spent a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clair Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Gillins and family, fam-ily, also Owen Stoker, father of Gerald, who was in the Beaver County Hospital. Several families from South Milford enjoyed the Centennial Centen-nial Celebration held recently in St. George. Included were Mr. and Mrs. Theman Walker and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Thurston and James Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wright and Denny, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cook and Betty, also Jimmy Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Rogers and children of Roy, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Sherwood and son of Salt Lake were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sherwood and Martin Sherwood last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Straley of Murray visited Mrs. Straley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Alger, Al-ger, last week. Also living with the Algers for this winter win-ter is Douglas Hickman, son of Zeke Hickman. Mr. and Mrs. Duard Evans visited relatives and enjoyed the fair at Parowan last week. Visiting their parents last week were children of Mr. and Mrs. John Lofthouse: Mr. and Mrs. Ja m e s Maxwell and daughter of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Deitz and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Alder and children of Salt Lake City. A surprise birthday party honoring Margie Sherwood was given last Saturday evening. eve-ning. Betty Naruse, Katie Willingham, Maude Veazey, Margaret Puffer and Jim and Martin Sherwood spent an enjoyable en-joyable evening. Calling on Mr. and Mrs. Orin Puffer last week were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Puffer, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Puffer. Also their daughter Nell is home after spending the summer working at Beaver. Russell Lee and Dickie Mayer, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mayer, are attending the Thunderbird Academy in Arizona. |
