Legion Stresses Voting The American Legion, represented repre-sented by Steve Williams, presented pre-sented an assembly to the Milford Mil-ford High School students Tuesday, Tues-day, Sept. 6. He spoke to the students on the proper way to vote and the importance of voting. vot-ing. He brought out the fact that some people who vote are voting improperly and they have to throw their ballots away. He also stressed the importance import-ance of students taking an active interest in politics and learning more about political parties. The students conducted a straw ballot Wednesday, to learn how to vote, as we are the future leaders of America. First Assembly Enjoyed The students and faculty of M H S enjoyed a short but entertaining en-tertaining assembly last Friday. Dennis Simpkins, master of ceremonies, cer-emonies, introduced the fololw-ing fololw-ing numbers: Elaine Gillins and Sharon Nichols sang "In My Little Corner Cor-ner of the World"; Kay Root and Margaret Ann Whittaker gave a reading "The Art of Kissing and Proposals"; Elaine Posey sang "Lonely Boy"; Jesse Long sang "Bless This House," Dale Johnson played two accordion ac-cordion solos, "Tico, Tico," and "Lady of Spain"; boys of the student stu-dent council, Ted Posey, Rodney Ogden, Mike Walker Dennis Simpkins, Keith Gillins, Roger Memmott, and Hal Edwards pre-' pre-' sented a. skit. |
