Show LEGION OFFERS FREE FILM PLUS ELECTION RETURNS Milford Post No. 16 of Hie American Legion will observe the 100th anniversary of the birth of General Pershing by showing a film based on his life, and reporting to all viewers view-ers of ihe film, the results of Tuesday's primary election. The film will be shown free to the public at 8 p. m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, in St. Bridget's Recreation Recrea-tion Hall. Results of the election elec-tion will be phoned directly to the recreation hall, -and announced an-nounced there as the results come in. All residents of Beaver Beav-er County are Invited to attend the Milford Legion's "election party." Jesse Long, Milford High School instructor who showed the film in his classes Thursday, was enthusiastic in reporting student stu-dent reaction. "It is an excellent film," Mr Long said, "and if other American Amer-ican Legion films in this series on the life of great Americans are available, I'd like to show them to my classes." The entire story of the life of the great World War I general is told, starting with his graduation gradu-ation from West Point, participation participa-tion in the Apache and Sioux Indian In-dian wars, the Cuba and Philli-pine Philli-pine campaigns, the Villa expedition expedi-tion into Mexico, and World War I activties when General Pershing Persh-ing commanded the A E F. After World War I, General Pershing as Chief of Staff was assigned the task of modernizing the U S Army, and was a special advisor to the Chiefs of Staff during World War II. |
