Show Beaver Viewrs Praise Flower Show and Jaycee Follies The flower show held at the Beaver High School on Labor day was viewed by hundreds of enthusiastic residents, and the annual Jaycee Follies presented in the evening was acclaimea by a near-capacity audience. Blue ribbons entries in the flower show were exhibited by Lola Hutchings, Melba Yardley, Mrs. W. A. Firmage, Mrsi. Ruby Wiilesen, Mrs. Mae Atkin, Mrs. Pauline Woodhouse, Mrs. Edwin Smith, Mrs. Verda Heffner, Mrs. Lois Lessing, Mrs. Arnold Parkinson, Par-kinson, Mrs. Nancy Smith, Mr& Maud Lewis, Mrs. Vilda Smith, Mrs. Mildred Yardley, Linda Yardley, and Grace Gillies. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Elva Hodges, Mrs. t -'dia Smith, and Mrs. Henry Wiilesen. Wiile-sen. Judges were Mrs. Kathleen Farnsworth, Mrs. Althea Low, and Mrs. Esta Cox. Hilarious acts featuring top entertainers of the area high-, lighted the follies. Appearing on the program were: Diane Riley, David Williams of Greenville, David C. Williams Wil-liams of Minersville, Janet Le lis, Gloria Morris and Kent Hansen; quartets and duets by The Memory Moms, Vilda Smith, Bertha Dalton, Mae Atkin At-kin and Esta Cox; Karl Farnsworth, Farns-worth, Kent Hansen, Sherman Carter and Earl McEwen; Pat and .Susan Yardley; and Jean I and Joan Eyre of Minersville; 1 1 The Fillmore Girls, Ann, Jane and Ruth; solos and tap dances by Marge Ann Bradshaw; ac-cordian ac-cordian solo, Rosalind Farnsworth. Farns-worth. A fine exhibition of twirling was given by the Dev-iilettes, Dev-iilettes, Janet Carter, Dy-Ann Davis, Jolene Lessing and Evelyn Eve-lyn Riley, and Kay Lee Fillmore presented an act while Janet and Sherry twirled. Other features included a pantomime by two boys from Parowan, a group of dancers pnd singers from Minersville; excellent dance exhibitions by Norman . Lamb'.s dance group from Milford; toe dance by Evelyn Eve-lyn Riley, and the Jaycee Square Dance by Karl Farnsworth, Farns-worth, David Williams, Rex Smith, Sam Johnson, Evan Niel-son, Niel-son, Hal Smith, Paul Nielsori and Kent Hansen. Tim Mackerell was master of ceremonies, assisted by John Borchert. |
