Show JjITTLEFIELD. Samuel Reber is here from Santa Clara. The District school will close Friday, April Oth. M. E. Paris, of Leeds, was assessing here this week. The M. I. A. will give a bow party on Friday, the 30th inst. H. P. Iverson has gone to W ashington ashing-ton with cotton and grain. A fine rain last night, and still showery today, the 23rd inst. Mrs. Thomas Terry was clown from the ranch visiting her children last week. Loaded teams with a steam hoist for the Bunkerville copper mine passed thru here a few days since. A petition has been sent to Kingman, asking that a voting precinct be established estab-lished here for this end of the county. The settlers around here surely need the protection of precinct officers. A picnic party was given by the Relief Society, in the Grove on the Beaver Dam creek, on Saturday, the 17th inst. About seventy souls made an attack on the delectables spread out by the society members. On the way home, what might have been a serious accident occurred; Levi Hancock was racing with team and wagon against some boys on horseback, when the wagon tongue dropied, ran into the ground, and completely upset the wagon, breaking the tongue and axle; Levi escaped with slight injuries. A dance at night ended the program. |
